Hello to all English speaking visitors!
I've been told we have a considerable amount of English speaking visitors, so I decided to
translate a little of this website into English.
First I would like to describe the navigation symbols:
 |
The green circle brings you back to the homepage,
there you can always find the link to the pages in english.
|
| |
 |
The square leads to a page with some information about the bridal couple
which you can find here in English.
|
| |
 |
The triangle links a picture-page of the wedding-eve party, the "Polterabend".
Guests bring old porcelain, ceramics and pottery and throw it all on the ground to break it
into many shards.
According to old customs the shards will bring good luck to the bridal couple.
Of course there is a drawback, the couple have to sweep the ground until all shards are gone.
Just look at the pictures and you will see yourself.
And two quick lessons in German, first the noise of all the breaking porcelain is in German called
"poltern".
If you look at the pictures you will notice the couple wearing some vests. These are vests of construction workers
except the printing on the backside which is a pun in our dialect. One meaning is
"we two belong together" and the other is "we two sweep the floor". Funny, isn't it :-).

Behind oval is a kind of online picture gallery. The pictures were taken during the celebration
and the guests wrote a few words and greetings into a notebook right away. Just have a look.

The blue circle brings you just to a small page about the two guys who started and built this website.
Nothing much of interest... ;-).
